Born and raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, I was thrilled when my family had the opportunity to return here to live after being gone for eighteen years. I have loved taking pictures since I was a child, but I never imagined I would become a photographer. My sweet husband and four boys were my models. After a series of events I truly believe were orchestrated by God, I decided to follow my passion and become a photographer. My experience has been incredible and I have been blessed to learn from some of the best photographers in the country. The most important truth I have learned is to love your clients. When you serve someone from a place of love, you are doing God's work.

I am a Mississippi Gulf Coast portrait photographer who loves capturing the beauty of people's lives. Every session is different because every person is different.

Animals
To say I am an animal lover is an understatement. I feel a connection to the various animals around me. Yes, I am that driver who stops and moves the turtles to the side of the road. Our family has, in my opinion, the best dog ever. Gracie is an English Goldendoodle and has quickly become the center of our household. We affectionately call her our oreo because of her black head and bottom with a creamy white and black spotted middle. She is the official mascot of Kirsten Owen Photography!

Fresh flowers
I absolutely love having fresh flowers in our home! In fact, one of my favorite decorations is a metal vase holder from Magnolia (Joanna Gaines). It hangs in my kitchen in front of my stove and I get to look at fresh flowers while I am cooking.

I am passionate about being a photographer because I thrive on capturing special moments in people's lives. It doesn't have to be a special occasion, it can be just an ordinary kiss your child may give you twenty times a day that you wish you could relive when that child is thirty years old. Or it could be the excitement a senior in high school feels when he or she has their entire life and dreams ahead of them ready to be written into history. It could be the sweet little toes of a newborn baby that you could stare at for hours, or a family portrait with three generations together making lasting memories. The moments I love to capture are the extraordinary ordinary moments that we share. The moments that we leave behind. The moments that make up our legacy. I would be honored to capture those moments for you.
